Zaveid's standing off to the side after it all ends, clutching Siegfried in his hand and examining the dark, long barrel with something akin to reverence. In the end, this gun had been the one to end it all, and Zaveid can't help but feel a twinge of pity for the poor soul who wielded it last. The weapon's barrel was still warm, buzzing with traces of the energy that had been fired out of it in the final battle. 

No matter. Sorey made his own choice, and that was that. Really, Zaveid had to give credit to the kid for sticking to it, but... He looks up, away from his old partner in favor of the pillar of light that shines before him.

Surely there must have been another way?

Zaveid finds himself lost in thought as he waits for the others to materialize again. He doesn't notice his hand tightening its grip on Siegfried's handle.

Background: He can't remember the exact moment of his creation, but the earliest memory of Zaveid's is when he was taken into slavery by humans. At the time, seraphim (then called Malak) like him were highly treasured for the their ability to use seraphic artes, and had their powers forcefully exploited until they turned into mindless tools. After a dragon attack left his former masters dead, he was taken in by a family of humans and taught to develop his own mind and free will in a small village. By his own will, he decided to have the brand marks of his slavehood painted over into white tattoos. He wears them proudly, as one would battle scars. However, his time in the village was a short one when the same dragon who had freed him from his masters snatched away the very first people he came to care about as well. It was then that Zaveid began his wandering, where he would venture into a mysterious forest many years later and emerge from it with a revolver gun: Siegfried, the village he truly began his life in its namesake. Armed with special bullets, he came back many years later and killed the dragon, using his newfound power to free the tortured seraph that lay inside. Though whether it was truly freedom, he can't honestly say.

Ever since then, he's developed a sense of wanderlust. He's met many people, and freed many more. TIme and time again he's faced off against friends turned hellion, muttering his own prayers as he put them to rest. As time passed, the malevolence grew thicker and blocked off the resonance of humans, and he spent more time with seraphim. He could do nothing more but shoot himself to kill another as more and more of the people he knew became corrupted by the dark force. He set out on a journey whose goal was to simply keep putting one foot in front of another, and eventually, he winded up at the Reyfalke Spiritcrest. There, he met a pair of earth seraphim siblings, named Edna and Eizen. There, his party grew to two. Eizen was one that defied his element, refusing to be stable and grounded as the earth should be. He wanted to explore the world, to meet many people and have fun in places he could have never imagined. Zaveid pretended not to notice the sadness that lingered in the eyes of Eizen's little sister, carefully concealed in her stoic expression as she watched them leave. 

They journeyed high and low, and indeed saw the world, just as Eizen wanted to. They saw all of it, the good and the bad. But Eizen's pure spirit, as bright as it shone, could not withstand the darkness of the world. Slowly, the malevolence corrupted his purity and distorted his form into a dragon. Zaveid was with him until the end, promising to use Siegfried to kill him once the last sparks of his consciousness and body were obliterated and a mighty dragon rose from its place. He ended up fulfilling that promise with Edna, long after a Shepherd had risen and he had become a Sub Lord. They had built a grave for him together, and he was the one to sit by Edna's side as she looked up at the stars and refused to cry. Maybe it was his way of apologizing for taking him away all those years ago, but Edna would never say.

After Sorey, the Shepherd, purified the Lord of Calamity and fell into slumber, Zaveid continued to journey with others alongside the newly-christened Shepherd Rose. He still carries Siegfried on him, more as a memento than anything. It's utterly useless until he can find more of those special bullets to load it up with. But he finds himself fingering the handle as he boards a mysterious tram. FIrst it was Edna who boarded and never came back, and then it was Rose... He had to get to the bottom of this before anyone else could disappear. Be it Shepherd, Seraph, or human, he would defeat whatever evil had taken them away and free them.

Because that's who he was, Zaveid, freer of souls. Whether he guides you to life or death, no one can say.

Personality: Zaveid's personality aligns with his element. He's a free spirit who's not afraid to voice his opinions and is a strong advocate for freedom and the ability to have your own will. He is certainly not one to be adverse in relationships with the other sex. Much of his time is spent flirting with women and earning himself a place in their beds. A strong belief of his is to "live in the moment" and to not let events of the past drag you down. He is very much aware of the concept of consequence and takes the future seriously.

"What you did doesn't make up who you are, it's what you do about them."

While his usual personality is more of a mischievous, flirty high-school delinquent, he can get quite serious when the situation calls for it. He firmly believes that death is a form of salvation, as it is what he's been doing to hellions long before a Shepherd could show up and give him the powers of purification. "Using Siegfried, I can free those people. But whether they end up in a happy afterlife, or arrive at an answer they're satisfied with is up to them. You don't question the Grim Reaper when he comes calling, do you?" He's a "man of his word," and will keep promises until the end. His friends are precious to him, moreso than he chooses to let on. He might seem like a pretty shallow guy at first, but you'll find that he has his own morals and beliefs. Who knows, once you take the time to learn more about him, you might even like him.

Abilities: -Wind Dash: allows him to utilize the wind to teleport an unspecified distance. Can be used to teleport past physical barriers and enemies, but can only be used as long as Zaveid is able to keep air in his lungs.
-Reading the Wind: allows him to read his surroundings using the power of the wind. Doing so takes away part of his attention and can make him vulnerable in a delicate situation. 
-Purification: The ability to cleanse a hellion of its malevolence, allowing it to return to its previous form before it became corrupted. The creature can then live out its life in peace, unlike Siegfried's method, where the user gains incredible power upon shooting themselves with a special bullet and "purifies" the hellion by killing it. Permanently. This power comes from being contracted with the Shepherd. As a Sub Lord, Zaveid cannot break off the pact binding him to Rose, the Shepherd, as his vessel unless the Prime Lord, who manages the contract, intervenes.
-Windstepping: After Zaveid defeats a particularly powerful enemy, or a certain amount of enemies, the adrenaline from victory allows him to be graced with amazing speed! Courtesy of the wind.
-Wind: As a wind seraph, he can manipulate the air around him and bend it to his will. This may include air inside of other living beings, as well. Comes with limitations that Zaveid hasn't discovered yet.
-Power Boost: Able to heighten his combat abilities significantly once he shoots himself with one of Siegfried's special bullets. Referenced above.
-Armitization: If there is a Shepherd (or their Squire) present in battle, they may call out Zaveid's True Name and fuse with him to combine their powers and strengths. 

Items Upon Arrival: Siegfried (no bullets, just a fancy-looking empty revolver gun), (False) Elixir from Goddodin-- partially made from aphrodisiacs, his trusty pendulums that he uses for weapons, a sack full of his healing items and consumables-- 5 each of apple, grape, peach, and melon gels, and a Void ring to lessen damage from non-elemental attacks. Also wears a wicked fedora as a keepsake of a passed Seraph known as Dezel. 



Cash Upon Arrival: Around 25,000 gald. He carries it in a brown sack, tied up with a string. Said sack is stored in one of the gun holsters hanging around his belt. 

Extra Info about Zestiria:
-Malevolence is a dark force generated by the negative emotions and evil of humans. It can corrupt humans, animals, and seraphim alike, turning them into monsters called hellions.
-Seraphim are a race of divine beings who each have control over one specific element. A particularly powerful seraph can use their power to bestow a Blessing onto the land, acting as a barrier from the malovolence. A seraph who extends a Blessing is known as the Lord of the Land.
-If a powerful seraph has the power of purification, they can bestow it onto a human with resonance, creating a Shepherd. The Shepherd can then take on a disciple who will be able to wield the power of purification in their domain and be able to see the seraphim if they could not previously. They are known as Squires. If a Squire has low resonance, however, this takes a toll on the Shepherd's body and can deterioriate their senses.
-Resonance is a human's ability to perceive the magical. Those with none cannot see hellions or seraphim, and pass off such events as a natural disaster or paranormal activity. If they have a medium level, they can sense what is there and may become apprehensive because of it. If they have a high level, they can see hellions and seraphim as clear as day.
